Have I Got News For You
HIGNFY is a satirical British quiz show, produced for the BBC by Hat Trick Productions.
It first aired in 1990 with Angus Deayton as host and two team captains in the form of Private Eye editor Ian Hislop and comedian Paul Merton. Accompanying each captian is one other team member, usually a famous guest such as a comdeian, journalist, writer or even a politician. This setup continued until 2002 until Deayton was requested to leave after some unwanted publicity. The first episode after this was hosted by Merton, but since then guests (of the kind who would usually appear as guest team members) have been asked to present the show and it's been decided that this format will stick.
Regular rounds include Caption Competition, Odd One Out, What Happened Next and Missing Words. The show has, since Series 6, also featured a weekly 'Guest Publication' an obscure magazine or other publication.
